Tom Moore, President / Owner

  • Joined FOOD MASTERS in 1978 as Director of Food Services / Area Manager.
  • Became an owner-partner in 1995 at the retirement of the senior partner.
  • Monitors the daily operation of the company to assure its continuing growth and success.
  • Skilled in restaurant design, décor and equipment specifications.
  • Authored the company’s food service manual; knowledgeable of food purchasing, preparation, safe handling and storage practices, temperature controls and service techniques.
  • Skilled in operational needs assessment, problem identification and resolution.
  • Received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Food Service and Housing Administration from Pennsylvania State University with a minor in Nutrition.
  • Served a Dietetic Internship at Cook County Hospital, Chicago, IL.

 

 

Matt Moore, Vice President / Director of Food Purchasing

  • Experienced in new facility development, cost-effective purchasing and restaurant management.
  • Coordinates and expedites food purchasing with vendors, suppliers and restaurant managers.
  • Performs product sourcing through a wide range of vendors for best possible quality and price.
  • Responsible for the company’s food program and menu implementation.
  • Serves as Area Manager for North Carolina facilities.
  • Received his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management, with concentration in the Hospitality Industry, from Appalachian State University, Boone, NC.
  • Joined FOOD MASTERS in 1991. 

 

Bill Casteen, Secretary-Treasurer

  • Comprehensive experience in the direction and setup of accounting, finance, and information systems.
  • Oversees the company’s finances, inclusive of operating budgets, forecasts, capital expenditures, cost analyses, payroll processing and insurance.
  • Serves as liaison with legal counsel and CPAs.
  • Skilled in research and writing of policies, procedures, employee handbook, and training materials.
  • Served as Office Manager / Controller for BTR Management Corp.
  • Joined FOOD MASTERS in 1979.
  • Attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, NC and Old Dominion University at Norfolk, VA.  His area of concentration was business administration and accounting.
  • Member and Past President of the Institute of Management Accountants, Raleigh-Durham Chapter.
  • Deacon, Tabernacle Baptist Church and Small Group Bible Study Leader.

 

Charles Casteen, Controller

  • Responsible for financial accounting, reporting and analysis as well as accounts receivable and accounts payable, payroll, general ledger posting and inventory.
  • Compiles monthly financial statements for individual stores and the corporate consolidated statement.
  • Files all necessary taxes, worker’s compensation, and other required reports.
  • Experienced in POS system programming and implementation.
  • Received a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, NC.
  • Member of the Institute of Management Accountants.
  • Joined FOOD MASTERS in 1994.

 

David Carr, Area Manager

  • Knowledgeable of all facets of all operations.
  • Assists with program development and training.
  • Experienced with new facility setup, staffing, training, and systems management.
  • Received a Bachelor of Science degree in Hospitality Management from Appalachian State University, Boone, NC
  • Served as Manager of Horns Travel Plaza, Mocksville, NC.
  • Currently serves as Area Manager of several North Carolina operations.
  • Joined Food Masters in 1998
  • Has been through the training schools of Jersey Mike’s, Quiznos and Dairy Queen

 

Les Williams, Area Manager

  • Experienced in the operation of fast food restaurants as well as full service restaurants and catering.
  • Hands on knowledge of preparation techniques and training
  • Has been through the Dairy Queen training school
  • Joined Food Masters in 2002

 

Chrissy Lorenz, Consultant and Quality Assurance Inspector, and Area Manager

    • Extensive background in food service management, menu development, safe food handling practices and food quality controls.
    • Completed advanced study of nutrition and food chemistry in relation to the human body.
    • Served on Food Masters’ management staff from 1998 to 2001.
    • Currently provides consulting services to Chic-Fil-A, Chili’s, McDonald’s and other fast food  companies.  As a consultant, Chrissy makes quality assurance inspections at stores located in North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia.
    • Received a Bachelor of Science degree from Appalachian State University, Boone, NC, with a Nutrition Major.
    • Received a registered Dietitian degree from Winthrop College, Rock Hill, SC.
